A thick layer of yellow and white limescale will be deposited on the inner wall of the kettle after the kettle has been used for a long time. This condition is very common in areas with relatively hard water. It will not only prolong the boiling time, but also affect the taste of the water and the health of the family, so what are the main ingredients of scale? How do you get rid of the scale in a kettle?
Scale commonly known as water rust, water alkali, the main ingredients are calcium carbonate, Magnesium hydroxide, magnesium carbonate, calcium sulfate, magnesium sulfate, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, and so on. Scale is hard water after boiling minerals attached to the container gradually formed in the white mass or powder-like material. Scale can be classified into carbonate scale, sulfate scale, silicate scale, and mixed scale according to chemical composition.
The heat conductivity of scale is very poor. If the limescale formed in the boiler is too thick, the efficiency of the boiler will be reduced, and if it is too heavy, the boiler tube will explode and cause the boiler accident.
Here are some tips which you can use to get rid of the limescale?
1. Remove limescale with white vinegar
White vinegar contains acetic acid, which can also scale and chemical reaction, which can effectively remove the scale inside the kettle. Pour the white vinegar and water into the pot at a ratio of 1:2. Soak for more than 2 hours. Wipe with a clean white cloth. Pour out the vinegar water. After repeated rinsing with clean water, it is completely clean.

Add lemon peel or lemon juice (the thinner the better, the aim is to release the citric acid as much as possible) to the kettle. Bring it to a boil and wait 20 minutes, and wipe it clean.
5. Remove limescale with potato skins
Potato skins are also good for removing limescale. We can put the peeled potatoes into a kettle, add water to cover the scale and the skins, turn the power on and let it boil, then stir with chopsticks for 5 minutes, and let it stand for about 20 minutes, can soften scale, finally with a clean cloth to wipe clean scale and then rinse with clean water. In the kettle when boiling water, you can also put a small loofah rang, is the loofah inside things, peeled, baked, put a section inside, you can also remove the scale.
7. Remove limescale with magnets
Scale is an unavoidable problem when using a kettle. To slow down the deposition of scale, we can put a small magnet on the bottom of the kettle, which can not only reduce the deposition of scale, it also softens the water by magnetizing it, making it healthier to drink
8. Remove limescale with cold water
A lot of people do not understand, how can cold water remove scale? In fact, we can use the principle of expansion and contraction of heat to let scale natural exfoliation. To do this, first prepare a basin of cold water, plug the empty kettle into the power supply and let it dry for a while. When we hear a crackling sound inside the kettle, we cut off the power supply and fill the kettle with cold water, then repeat the process about three to five times and the scale will break off on its own.
